Oh yea, and jim, i know, i know, there's a forum for that.
It actually makes sense to sell the HS and buy a better stock.

not liking the 5R because its stainless, however, is just foolish thinking.

Your honest recommendation is to get the 5R over the 700P? I love the buy once cry once mentality, but it would push this purchase back until April to May. Then I'd have to wait a few more months to buy reloading gear (or ammo), rings, scope base, bipod, etc.

I know how ya feel, I just pilfered some ammo cans from other hardly used calibers in an attempt to organize my safe a little better.

its months away..... Buy once, cry once..........

What's another month or so? You can get it pretty quick, you just have to seriously save your pennies, like EVERY one of them. If you want it faster, I'm talking about pb&j and ramen for two months, while saving all the rest of the money.

my honest recommendation is for you to get what will serve you best, and not just for right now.

as far as the money for reloading, that sounds like an excuse to me, bro. Say it with me: Lee Classic Reloader. $35. buy it from amazon. All in one loader to get you started. $30 in bullets, $10 in primers, $25 in powder. Buy it in stages.

Youre on the right path by thinking of all the stuff that you'd need. Just think really hard about what your ultimate end goal is going to be. Actually write it down, make a plan, and REALLY analyze everything.

Yeah, I'm being a bit tough on ya, BC.

its only because I'd rather you get the right gear for you.

convincing you out of it will only solidify your resolve when you do make the purchase. If I try to talk you into a gun, then you'll just blame me if it sucks.

the first bolt gun I bought was a R700 ADL from Walmart. I paid about $400 for it, and when I get around to shooting the barrel off of it, I'll maybe get a different caliber for it, maybe not. That's my plan, anyways.
