    1) You don't need a 1/2" drill for the .223. It has a 5/16" End Mill as the cutting tool, so a 3/8" works just fine.

    2) Holding the drill and the brass is not the best way to do this. Need to use a vice to hold the drill, turn it on and then you can run your brass.

    3) Setting it up to cut 1.745" is a PITA. I used a piece of brass that was 1.745", followed the directions to set it up. Grabbed a piece of brass that was 1.762", trimmed it, marked the rim with a sharpie to see if it was trimming any further, trimmed it and only sharpie on half of the rim came off, so I trimmed it again and spun the case, same thing. Okay, that piece of brass is at 1.745". It measured 1.755". Not even CLOSE to 1.745". There is definitely a trick to setting it up or something, because that piece of brass would never trim below 1.755" But, I don't have the time now to figure out a better way of setting it up, so, this is all the review you're getting for the moment HB.
Well, that's not really what I was hoping to hear... I think you have a bad first impression, because you have never used the $7 Lee trimmer.

I'll be looking forward to more details when you figure out how to read the directions

No, it was oogleing me from the other side of the parkin lot, but I was able to get in safely. I think it is waiting by my car for the end of the day.

I just spent 1hr45min on hold with Bellco Credit Union Visa Card dept to have a 1min convo. I didn't want to leave a voicemail because in my experience those things never call you back, or they call you back in a week when the info is no longer needed.

Not even bloodsucking Anthem Blue Cross was that bad. For shame, Bellco.

    Oh ha. Ha. Very funny.

I followed the directions. My brass that was 1.745" was inserted while the cutter lock screws were loosened and the cutter slid back. Then, slowly moved the cutter forward until it touched the brass face, then tightened the screws and proceeded to trim.

The videos explaining the setup did it that way too. I won't have time tonight to play with it at all, but I should be able to spend at most 2 hours on it tomorrow morning and will repeat the setup with fresh brass and attempt to clamp down my drill, then trim 10 pieces of brass that are currently over 1.76" and record the results (how much they were trimmed etc).

The directions say if it doesn't work, your shoulders can be at a different spec than the WFT tool is setup for and to send them 3-5 pieces of your sized brass and the cutter, but frankly, I don't want to pay shipping to do that. If this ends up being the case, I think I might return the WFT and get something else.

Perhaps two camel videos will make up for this weeks mistake. Two DIFFERENT videos. [dunno]
