    Unfortunately, I unknowingly let an OTA update sneak through a while back before I got around to rooting it that took me past the firmware level (MKD) that could also unlock the bootloader.

    I'm still on 4.2.2 JB (MI1) and prefer to stick with it as everything works great, but last week I cracked the damn screen (first phone breakage ever.) I've considered replacing it under maintenance since there appears to be roots out for everything now, but I may also just have a local shop replace the glass if they can do it right since I have a lot of time invested in the current setup.

    I originally rooted it BECAUSE the last OTA update that destroyed google maps usability. I now have the old version installed and it's great to still have "my places."

    I figured out the flooring bullshit. Several aspects were involved in the problem(s) I was having, but I've got on the right track now. That's a good feeling, and it's looking good.
