Good catch! They are as tight as they will go. After struggling with the first one, I took my set of calipers and determined that the bottom of the keyholes were .02" smaller than the button that was supposed to fit in them. I called the company and they said that this was normal, as long as I whacked them with a mallet several times and they wouldn't budge.I'm playing it safe and distributing the weight very evenly.
ETA: I did a bunch of pull-ups hanging from various spots along each of the frames and they are all very stiff. I bounced in a few spots to see if I could break anything loose, and it held my bouncing weight just fine.

"I am a conservative. Quite possibly I am on the losing side; often I think so. Yet, out of a curious perversity I had rather lose with Socrates, let us say, than win with Lenin."

Credit TFOGGER : Liberals only want things to be "fair and just" if it benefits them.
Credit Zundfolge: The left only supports two "rights"; Buggery and Infanticide.
Credit roberth: List of things Government does best; 1. Steal your money 2. Steal your time 3. Waste the money they stole from you. 4. Waste your time making you ask permission for things you have a natural right to own. "Anyone that thinks the communists won't turn off your power for being on COAR15 is a fucking moron."
I don't have much experience with it (we sell and fab 2 & 3 cm). Have talked to a couple people who have it and they both like it. But I have no long term (7+ yrs) data on it.
Compare pricing and warranty carefully. Get several detailed bids for each style. Done properly the overlay stone should be gtg but I still have some concerns about the long term durability.
I would, at the end of the day still recommend 3 cm. Good deals can be found for 3 cm that negate the perceived savings.
