Good catch! They are as tight as they will go. After struggling with the first one, I took my set of calipers and determined that the bottom of the keyholes were .02" smaller than the button that was supposed to fit in them. I called the company and they said that this was normal, as long as I whacked them with a mallet several times and they wouldn't budge. I'm playing it safe and distributing the weight very evenly.

ETA: I did a bunch of pull-ups hanging from various spots along each of the frames and they are all very stiff. I bounced in a few spots to see if I could break anything loose, and it held my bouncing weight just fine.

Yep, did that last time, and I'll do it again. Chicago doesn't have any crazy rules about knives, do they?

I'll give them a call in the morning.

I used to have a guy that did recycled data center raised flooring that I thought might have some good contacts, but I lost his contact info years ago.

I don't have much experience with it (we sell and fab 2 & 3 cm). Have talked to a couple people who have it and they both like it. But I have no long term (7+ yrs) data on it.

Compare pricing and warranty carefully. Get several detailed bids for each style. Done properly the overlay stone should be gtg but I still have some concerns about the long term durability.

I would, at the end of the day still recommend 3 cm. Good deals can be found for 3 cm that negate the perceived savings.

Keep running around questionable locations and you may get some real world practice that we can try and replicate at next months match, after our moment of silence for you.
