It accumulates to a certain point, carrying over from year to year. Since 2005, I've been able to carry forward 120 days of vacation. This year they only let me carry forward 60.

Ive deployed so much that those vacation days just keep piling up. I last returned from theater in FY 13, so this fiscal year I don't get to keep as many.

Yeah but a2te you going to take them? You're always talking about how hard you work. Even if you can't stay still on vacation, you could take on a detailed project or a money making project or something so it won't feel like vacation.

I got 24 days of leave and 12 days of sick per year at my old university. When I left, I cashed out 1 month of leave and used the last 3 weeks of leave/sick as vacation time and got double checks.

Eta: wife distracted me, 3 weeks not 3 months
