I might have in the past, but after watching the Wranglerstar channel for so long, I've learned a bit about taking care of forests and it may not be a huge deal depending on how/where they cut from.

Alright then....that helps me think it's not so retarded. Thanks.
To your point though, a huge beautiful tree is way less likely to be some runt in an over crowded area...

In many cases the forest was over grown to begin with. No harm no foul. Need for 85' Christmas trees is pretty low.
Christmas trees for the masses are farm grown domestically and imported, just like corn and fruit.
Slightly off topic - Our govt management of the forest resources for the last century has been criminal in my opinion. My family was in the timber industry for many years, we harvested and sawed during the 60's, 70's and 80's. Between early environmentalists and politics, one of our renewable resources has been squandered and and put behind 50-80 yrs.
Where I went hunting in unit 58 was old logging area. It is the most pathetic thing I've every seen. Thousands of downed trees just ready for the fire place. It is a literal tinder box. If there is ever a fire there, that whole mountain will be gone and no one can save it.
