Went up Mt Herman rd today to play a little. They closed it in Jan to fix some drainage issues and now there is no shooting allowed until you get to Rampart Range Road... WTF? Speaking of erosion, there goes the national forest land that we used to shoot on...

Anyway, it was a beautiful day.

And it was all going well, until I tried to turn around and got stuck. Snow was 8-16" deep, depending on where I stepped.

Finally dug my way out and used my rubber floormats for traction. I really didn't think I'd get stuck, but one of my wheels hit an old tree stump, which stopped me, and then I couldn't get going from there because I was trying to go slightly uphill to get back to the road. Tire chains and I would've been out in 2 mins. Winch and I would've been out in 5 mins. Instead, I had to dig myself out with an E-tool and floormats while in 4Lo. Took about 25 mins. Can't believe nobody else came by while I was there. Oh well.

I wasn't in any real trouble (wife could've come to get me, I had plenty of food/water, full tank of gas, warm clothes, etc), but it kind of put a damper on things. Almost as much as the new shooting restrictions.
