We actually DO account for the gravity of the moon for a lot of things. The moon affects the shape and mass distribution of the earth, which affects the motion of satellites traveling around the earth, while the moon is also pulling directly on the satellites themselves. Heck, we have to account for the Rocky/Andes Mountains and the Himalayas, the shifting of tectonic plates, the tides, the uneven shape of the Earth, etc. There are thousands of variables.
