Tried something a few weeks ago, and it worked out pretty cool.

Since I have a case of IDPA targets, I thought it might be neato to set up some indoor stages and using one of those laser cartridges to run the stage. The only thing that kinda sucks is having to cycle the weapon for each shot, and faking the mag changes, but other than that it's really fun and good practical training.

Scenarios I've played out are stuff like...."Just coming home from work and finding bad guys in the house" .....and "waking up in the middle of the night to bad guys in the house" type deals. Run them with R.O. / procedure just like a real match. Have a friend or family member kick you out of the house while they tape up targets in various places....in closets, behind shower curtains and stuff like that, get the signal and come in and clear your home of douche holes.

Airsoft, and not the cheapy ones they sell at sporting goods stores. The higher end ones come almost identical in size as the real guns and mimic the controls too. Mags can be as much or more than the real stuff. I have a Tokyo Marui hi cappa that's identical for my STI 2011. Super fun.

I made a bunch of 60% size IDPA targets and doubled them up. The spring loaded airsoft pellets will stick in the first layer so they can both be scored and recovered. How powerful are the gas airsoft guns?
