    This is why ventilation and felt are important on a roof. Even in winter your roof has a very wide range of temperature, which means a lot of movement and a lot of need to try and regulate temperature. What was the low last night, 32 degrees? Same roof, picture taken within seconds of each other. North and South sides respectively.

    besides one section in shade, what exactly does this mean? You're loosing heat, or reflecting heat, not allowing it to get inside the attic
