Getting Colorado as a duty assignment required this 5 month trip to Georgia first.

Mrs. Belly and the two fur-kids are set up in the Springs. I started my trip to Georgia as the moving van was pulling up to the house. I just spent the last year away from my family, missed a bunch of pretty significant events, and now I'm spending another 5 months away. It takes its toll. Over the course of our marriage, Mrs. Belly and I have spent about as much time apart as we have together.

I'm looking forward to just being back together and having a relaxing evening chasing my wife around the house and playing with the pups.

FWIW, we only spent 6 months apart our first year and before kids, but I did miss my second son's birth. Military life does require some sacrifice. A strong partner makes it work.

A bird shit on me at work. Bad thing is, I didn't notice until I was back at the office. Then I looked at my shirt and wondered wtf kind of melted candy was on it and why. So as I'm pondering it, I smashed it between my index and thumb to try to figure it out before it dawned on me.
