The g17 I'd learned to shoot handguns with has to go back to it's rightful home now.

Silly me, my bday was a few weeks ago & my DL had expired this year. Renewed online last night. Sheesh

I don't believe you. I have it on good authority (Moms Demand Action, etc.) that people can just buy guns anywhere with nary a problem, no BGC, etc.

Have you considered calling the local ATF guys and seeing if they have any Fast and Furious leftovers?
