Well, I submitted my promotional paperwork for the Phoenix and Tucson areas, wish me luck that I'm selected.

The valley is marginally cooler than tucson. It's like the denver metro area. BUT, lots of places to shoot, barring extreme fire danger weeks. Be nice if you got the valley area, we're down there once a month or so.

    Thanks for the luck gents!

I was supposed to go down and scout the areas out last month, but unforeseen circumstances kept us away. Wife and I have done a ton of research, and are prepared to move sight unseen, we know it's hot AF, we know there are a lot more critters down there, we know there is monsoon season, etc etc. We also know cost of living is cheaper, gun rights aren't being attacked (yet anyway), and it's 5-6 hours from ALL of her family, which she could use for her health issues. My wife lived in Vegas for 5 years, so, while not quite as hot, she knows heat. Below, is this week's forecast from where I grew up vs Tucson......

The Quad cities gets over run with Valley people who flee north during the summer. 89 & 17 NB in the summer look like 70 wb come ski season.

Funny thing is most if not all are back in the phoenix area by mid sept. By then they say it's too cold for them. Quad cities area Sept temps average in the high 70's.

Fox 13 weather chick Stephanie Olmo says the phoenix area temps will return to normal by the weekend. Which puzzles me as the current temps are running 110-113 and they say normal is 103-108. Does 3-4 deg past 100 actually that noticeable?

I'm just ready for some consistency, with a preference towards heat. One thing we noticed here in Colorado, when it's in the 90's, the restaurant patios clear out, and people are wanting AC, I'm just dandy drinking my beer on a patio in the 90's, just have to drink it faster.
