Oh, & while I said 556, it's my understanding that I should start out with 9mm. Get a feel for it before moving onto more advanced/difficult loads.

Not sure that applies though as I started out shooting tactical rifle & seemed to advance rather quickly. I also have my own workshop & fly model rockets to 30k ft. so very little about tooling, building & assembling things to go boom & zoom is foriegn to me.

Im thinking I'll catch on pretty quick on assembly & realize that development is an entirely different animal.

You could start wherever, but straight walled pistol rounds are super easy.

Left @ 7 this a.m. for a 2 hr drive to pick up a mill. Another 2 hrs back. But wait........turns out the same road back was closed (WB) for weekend repaving. So. that meant i had to tack on another 50 miles out of the way to get back north.
Meanwhile it was a balmy 98 @ 10 this morning trying to get out of phoenix. . Nothing like a 300 mile rt .

Gives one time to ponder who the hell i'm going to get to help unload a 900 ish lb mill. Yeah science, hoist and buying lunch.
The fun part starts in a few days when we have to get it off the floor and on to the bench .
Luckily the seller had 3 of his friends on site to help load the damn thing.

I didn't check links but we have knocked this around before. Look for the knock offs. I picked up 3 approx a year ago at one of the "farm" stores. Murdocks or Bomgaars I think. Were $12/pc less than any other price I could find and $20 less than retail auto parts store.

They have sat out in sun most of the time and show half the weather fading/decomp that typical Nanny State cans.

Will never buy another type fuel can.

Do you have a particular kind of press in mind? Seems like you are deep into precision, which some people say you can't load on an auto press. Guys like Tim_K have experienced otherwise.
