Hey thanks. I actually took two shots at this guy. The first one at about 325ish, which is the shot you see. I took a second shot at about 425ish which was a miss. I didn't realize that I got him the first time as everything was happening pretty quickly. I proned out on my pack and the first attempt was just a click. I ejected the round and there wasn't even a dimple in the primer, so I'm not exactly sure what was going on. Everyone ran off, and he stopped to look at me, and when I took the second shot, he ran off again. I hiked over to where they were running away, as I wanted to make sure that I didn't leave anything and I saw him laying dead pretty quickly. Pretty exciting for me.

So, I've never processed my own meat before, and don't really know what I'm doing. There are plenty of resources out there, so I'm going for it. I bought a vacuum sealer, and it died on the first piece of meat, so that's going back tomorrow. I don't have a grinder, so there won't be any burger or sausage. I was pretty concerned about the meat, but so far I think it will turn out okay.

Here is some meat I took straight out of the "feed to the dog" pile. Threw some seasoning on and seared it up. I have to say that I'm pretty pleased. This meat is downright sweet. I could see how some people wouldn't like it, and I could see getting sick of it as well, but I like it. Never had antelope before. Plus, I currently have a whole fridge full of meat.

Neither my dog, or the cat would touch the raw meat. It made me feel like if they won't eat it, I wonder if I'll like it. Also, it made me think less of them both.
