    Today another (5th) front page article in the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel detailing the county's conduct to hide it's unlawful actions from the taxpayers. A five-day jury trial is scheduled for June in Denver federal court. Payback is coming.

    After another couple years for that county to burn even more $ on appeals, I think those people will have some decent retirement options in the future.

    Yes, while the lawyers make the money, it's the county employees and taxpayers who lose. Taxpayers will end up paying attorney fees for both plaintiff and defendant, now close to a $million, all to keep the county commission from being labeled a serial age discriminator. But the evidence is overwhelming against them and most everyone who's ever worked for the county knows some history of it. The commissioners posture to party insiders that they save money by not spending it but conservatism demands efficient government, not dysfunction and chaos. Ignorance, incompetence and corruption is their administrative hallmark now. The public will never fully know how much they're doling out to their buddy lawyers to hide from their legal and ethical responsibilities.

    Tickets to Monster Truck Jam for the 5 year old Grandson's Birthday treat $95.

    Parking $20.

    Food and beers $56.

    Sliding into a pole exiting the parking lot, Priceless*

    * = $500 insurance deductible.

    If he keeps sliding onto poles, he might get a few singles from a certain type of crowd, I suppose.

    Hallmark of every county, city and state anymore. I wonder if it's technically an insurance policy that's paying for it. What's ridiculous is that when legitimate injustices do occur, the process to rectify them is so damaging and lengthy that by the time you do get compensated, you've shaved off about a decade.. literally and figuratively. E.g. county isn't going to pay up, they'll motion for reconsideration first, then appeal it to the tenth. Probably stop there. If your unlucky, they'll get it remanded back to the district court over some technicality (e.g. judgment forgot to label what the damage type was, so it's invalid, or some minor error in the beginning of the case) and in many cases, you'd be back at square one doing an entire trial all over again, then they'll motion for reconsideration again, then another appeal..... System is f'ed in every possible way.

    First time in 39 years and I'm pissed at myself for it.

    Last time I hit something was doing +100 on the Autobahn in 81 and a small group of us rolled through some black ice with the one in the lead braking.

    Have a new truck due in too, so this sucks.

    With 2 kids driving I am out if spare cars, so waiting on parts is not good.
    I don't read everything but... if you want OEM, have you thought of a junkyard?

    For me the options are junk yard, or Japan (when the ONE guy on all the internet can't get a hold of the part).

    So for Valentine's Day, I told my daughter that she would be making a gift for her mom. We watched a video on YouTube to get the idea. I coached her through, but she did ALL the work, cutting, grinding, bending, and even the welding. I have videos and stuff, but that's for elsewhere. Here is the short version. All photos are vertical because of Instagram. :/
