Yup I hear ya!!
I use to get in a few scraps with the neo's myself,typical stobborn Polack.
Got my nose broken on many occasion for it too
Yup laces and braces!!I remember red and white,but I forget what all the other colors ment..

red, nazi
white ,white power or pride (depends on how they are laced )
blue , working class
green , sharp
pink , gash (ill never understand those guys )
black and white cross stitched rude boy
......
im sure if i really thought about it i could remember more but its been many years since i really gave it more than a quick passing thought

Ah yes,the rude boys!!
They were cool as shit!!they allways got the hot chicks!!I wore either black or blue now that I think about it.
And on occasion black chuck taylors.

i tried the doc's for a while but switch to full tilt ass kicking combat boots or addias . always rocked black laces , not much for braces , chain wallets or extras . i always found that extra crap to be a bit froo froo and get in the way of good old teenaged mayhem .
while the rude boys had the style they were pussies and never got the chicks in my circles
