    Default oops! (need motorcycle help!)

    ops: ops:

putting forward controls on my HD... had to remove the exhaust....

3 outta the 4 nuts came off the exhaust manifold studs... the 4th (and last) came off, but with a snap! :-x

so now I need to have someone take the broken stud out and put in a new one..

any suggestions for a local (denver/aurora) mechanic, or should I just suck it up and have the dealership do it?

I could get it out for you if you want to bring it to my shop. Other wise I would personally take it to Wild West Customs the owner Mike is a buddy of mine. Unless you want me to do it and it wont cost you anything. [wink]

If you want to swing by my shop I could take care of it for you it's not a big deal. Let me know you have my phone # I posted it in the super top secret mod forum.

Man I hate when that happens, especially if it breaks off flush.

Extractors are the biggest pain to use and I've had them break off in the stud -ick!

Once I had to use an edm to get out a broken stud, had to have the cylinder off for that.

    Good luck with it.

I have many methods to get them out it's no big deal we can start with a set of snap on left hand cobalt drill bits and easy out. If that wont do it I can drill it all the way out and heli-coil it.

+1 on what Marlin said also. :P

    Heli-Coil is your friend.
Any good high-end auto parts store will have one.

you'll never be able to extrat that small of one. well, maybe, but it's damn hard.
