You're not too far off. Thunderbolts are known for leading up barrels. Use copper washed or quality wax coated ammo. I've used thousands of rounds of CCI blazers in my umarex mp5, and other .22s, and never had lead build up issues.

Expectations. It shoots many rounds quickly and (fun) accurately. Not loud, not abbusive, compact with the retractable and easy to live with. The retractable takes some getting used to in LOP. I was looking at a 10/22 takedown but went with the MP5/22 and dont regret it a bit. I think it is as almost as packable as the 10/22, slightly heavier. 0 malfuntions with the first few hundred rounds of CCI. I expected it to be fun and it is. With an HK stamp on it I expected it to be well put together, and I think it is. I like it.

Just put another 525 rounds through mine today, with zero issues. The "special" optic rail is back in stock at HKparts and I have a new Eotech 512 ordered for it as well. I changed out the collapsible stock to the fixed A2 from day one, and added a Urban ERT sling. Even out of the box, I'm hitting 100 yards consistently with just the irons. I'll have pics soon, once I get it all in and mounted.

Zeroed the EOtech today at about 50 yards. Hits 100 yard steel all day long. Even hits the 160 yards steel pretty consistantly. Multiple targets under 50 yards can be hit as quick as you can put the dot on target and pull the trigger. Put another 360+ rounds through it today. Had to spray out the chamber and barrel once with brake cleaner mid ways thru for the first round to chamber in the mag. As I was using somewhat dated American Eagle ammo, I'm sure that didn't help. After that, it chomped thru everything else. All in all, the best time I've had on the range in awhile...
