The barrel bore is a different diameter as the 22mag uses .224" like the 223 Remington and the 22lr, short, long, etc. uses .222" bore. This will cause poor accuracy when shooting LR from a Mag bore.

While .22 WRF (Winchester Rim Fire- 22lr) may be fired in a .22 WMR, firing a .22 S, L or LR in a .22 WMR firearm will likely result in gas leakage at the breech and may cause a potentially dangerous case rupture. Such use always will result in bullet metal fouling in the .22 WMR chamber throat and degraded accuracy with the smaller rounds.

The 38 special/357mag use the same .358" bore just like the 44 special/44 mag use .429" bore.
Like stated Ruger makes one but accuracy with the LR is notoriously poor.
