    Default PTR91 good rifle?

All usa made to exact HK specs.... i shot one at the range and loved it was absolutly impressed. One of the guys at the range just bought it that day, and took it out for a test drive right out of the box, and it was accurate and worked like a charm.

Now i'm wondering guys, are they usually like that? Or was that one rifle just a fluke?

I can get a brand new in box current production PTR91F for 695$. I'm really itching to get it... cause i'm really good with it and love that rifle. But again not sure if the one i shot was a fluke or if that was the norm.

If it is usually not the case that they are good, than what type should i get?
    Thanks Ahead of time guys.

About 95% of the reviews I have seen on other boards have been positive. The other 5% it was just some minor problem that was easily fixed.

I had one for about a year. I only put about 400 rounds through it but it never hiccupped and was very accurate.

The reason I sold it was because I only put about 400 rounds through it in a year. Most of my shooting was at 100 yards or less and a .308 did not make a lot of sense. I also needed room in my safe. It sold on a gunbroker auction for almost what I bought it for from Jensen's brand new.

Yep, I really wish JLD would start using the HK front handguards again, that is what mine had.

They are such a good rifle that the price of a real HK-91 has come down due to the JLD's.
