startin to prepare for training

i know this probably should be in classifieds but its more of a story also so listen up dammit. [tank]

I got to start gettin guns, ammo, gear lined out for this class, I still have a couple months but i want to make sure I have everything squared away well before then. Not packing, just making inventory of what I have and don't have and what I need to buy and such.
Anyway for the rifle portion I dont want to lug around a heavy ass 20" SS bull barrel AR. Although I will take both uppers but I will probably use the lighter one just because. My AR is for varmints and paper punchin not moving around fast in a tactical environment.
I dont want to buy a complete rifle right now.(unless i get a good deal on one) Just want an upper to stick on the lower I have right now. I have a line on an upper at Arctic just waiting for some details on it, it was part of a parts kit that was split up. Its a new 16" bushy upper,
If this doesnt work out, does anyone have for sale or know where I can get a cheap 16-18" upper with preferably a mid length gas system. New or good shape used. Would consider A1, A2, A3, A4 uppers would prefer A3 or A4 flattops.

For those that didnt see the post, I am takin a 3 day 3 gun course from Jim Shanahan at Advanced Performance Shooting in Missouri sometime this fall.
