Ideas like that aren't really all that new. Almost half the body armor companies out there have some supposed new fangled way of making "their" vests better than just plain old Kevlar. Many tout claims of "knife proof" vests and the like. I would definitely want to see solid proof and governmet test lab results first. After all, moisture degrades Kevlar, how would that stuff effect the Kevlar over time? I'll stick to what's know and proven for now. Karl.
aye untill it's tested i wouldnt vest my life in it either.... but it's amazing what todays technology can do maybee some day our soldiers wont be killed quite as often due to one of these new types of kevlar thats been perfected.... think about if they made uniforms out of the stuff that would be sweet....
Well if you're going to nit pick Karl, armor and any of it's modern incarnations are far from new or original ideas. Liquid defense has been used several times throughout history.
This specific reference is novel amongst modern iterations. This is actually the one I have my eye on...

This is yet another re-invention of an armor type we've seen repeated in the course of the quest to defend combatants. Yet, if I have to buy something on my own to take into a combat environment, the SOV system (aka Dragon Skin) is IMHO the best bet in current solutions.
