Well if you're going to nit pick Karl, armor and any of it's modern incarnations are far from new or original ideas. Liquid defense has been used several times throughout history.

This is yet another re-invention of an armor type we've seen repeated in the course of the quest to defend combatants. Yet, if I have to buy something on my own to take into a combat environment, the SOV system (aka Dragon Skin) is IMHO the best bet in current solutions.
