When I relised that it was not a family member making the sounds coming from my garage area, I readied my firearm (round in the chamber, hammer back, finger OFF trigger, laser engaged). When I got closer to my kitchen door and realised that the sound was someone prying and attempting to force their way into my home, I took action to stop the threat. Opened the door, raised my firearm, finger on trigger, with the intent and mindset to deal with the threat acordingly, leathal force if needed. The surprise and tactical advantage I had gave me complete control of the situation. Had the the perpetrator not imeadietly complied with my instructions or made an agressive movement, I would have shot him. When he complied and was on the ground, police in route, I moved my finger outside of the trigger gaurd so there would not be a negligent discharge.Originally Posted by Pistol Packing Preacher
The safety was never engaged on my weapon. I keep my "nightstand gun" in a biometrics safe by my bed. It is a Beretta 92fs w/crimson trace grips. I leave it unloaded with a full magazine in it, safety off.
