Default this is another Vector Arms thread

I want to know some opinions on them. I am seriously tempted to order one of their MP5 10mm SBR clones. I am huge fan of the 10mm and I am about 75% setup to reload 10mm.
If you don't like them or had an issue with them please just post up.
If you have had great luck with one please post up.

if you are not a fan of them please post up another 10mm subgun in the same price range as a mp5 clone from vector.
Does Uzi make a 10mm Karl you may know this one?
I want a sub gun, or pistol cal SBR upper for my AR and I cant find a 10mm except for OLY and I wont deal with them period, its personal so lets not go there.

UZI experimented with over 30 calibers at one time. 10mm was one of them. But your chance of finding an original IMI 10mm bolt, barrel, and mags is unlikely at best. I have seen a few 40S&W bolts, but then you'd still need a barrel, mags, and maybe a lower to fit the mags.

There is a company that makes them aftermarket and I have heard nothing but good about them. The name is Barrel Exchange. I will try to find his contact info. The owners name is Troy. I know he can make barrels and bolts, but I don't know about mags. Last I heard he was modifying IMI mags. Probably the 45 mags. If you use a 45 mag, the factory lower will obviously work. Karl.

Oh, and as for those Vector clones of the MP5's. I have heard of a few working good, and Vector will make any problems right in the end.... BUT, I have heard 100 times more bad than good. They were supposedly made by that Toad from Speshul Weppins. Personally, I'd steer clear of them. But ask MP5Engineer too, I believe he has one and is happy with it. As well, maybe 1 or 2 others here. Karl.

Awhile back Vector quit making the 10mm (and .357) version because there was just too much variance in the recoil energy from one brand of ammo to another. This caused them no end of fits with these firearms. I got this info on a factory tour directly from Ralph Merrill, the owner.

Supposedly, you would need multiple locking pieces to cover the gamut of factory ammo out there and they were naturally worried with premature unlocking if the wrong LP were used with hot ammo. This wasn't a problem with the 40 S&W.

I don't know if these are guns they've inventoried from the first run or if they have the ammo bugs worked out and are back in production. The receivers are all marked Coharie Arms. Here is Todd Bailey's explanation of the Coharie relationship to Speshul Wepuns. http://www.hk-54.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=670. Personally, I will not do business directly with that man.

I have a MP5-40 pistol that occasionally takes a ride on my registered sear pack. Whatever you buy, ask if it has a FA carrier. That will make it more valuable down the road even if you don't ever take advantage of it.

It is a risk and it does seem like Vectors quality has gone down a little in the last few months. However, I have a Friend who has 3 Vector HK clones and has only had one minor problem with one of them.

If you REALLY want a 10mm carbine the Vector is worth looking at but just go into it realizing it is a risk. You may need someone who knows delayed roller HK's to go over it. I think Jayson at IGF and Murray Urbach are the two best at these guns. I have yet to hear about a HK clone that Jayson at Investment Grade Firearms could not get running. Last I HEARD Urbach is refusing to work on clones.

I will go ahead and tell you class 3 guys this first. I have accepted a position in Seattle for at least 12 months with Precor ( www.precor.com ). Washington state has some screwy class 3 restrictions no MG's, SBR's, or AOW's I can take my suppressors up there and even mount them on a gun but if I send a round down the barrel I have committed a class B misdemeanor punishable by up to 1 year in Jail. I guess I will be taking a LOT of trips to Oregon and Colorado. Some of you may be wondering, "Why in hell would Ken do this? Well, it is a really good job for advancing my career and they almost doubled my salary. I am keeping my house in Colorado.

I will help organize and fly back for another Colorado Silencer Shoot. When Eric and I were at the Silencer Shoot in Atlanta last weekend we spoke with Kevin Brittingham the owner of Advanced Armament Corporation and he said he was willing to fly out to Colorado and bring AAC demo's. I will also contact Matthew at SWR and see if he is interested. I guess we could also invite someone from Gemtech, but I don’t think Dr. Dater will be in proximity with Kevin.

My first day at the new job is July 9th and I am driving out there on the 7th.

    Take care guys,
    Ken

no problem man, i truely thank you for your input on these. If I do get one I will let you shoot it when you come back down to visit.

I am also in the market for a can, going to get one for a .223 so I can use it on my .22, .222, and on my AR. So depending on when the silencer shoot is, I might can come with stuff of my own.

I will do a little more research see what i can dig up with. I have a .243 AR I have to pay for first, and finish a 22br varmint gun I am working on and then I will worry with the 10mm mp5 clone.
I just really want a 10mm subgun SBR. full auto really isnt in my budget right now and if it was it would be for an AR anyway.

Just get one of these in .45 cal http://www.cx4storm.com/

guarenteed reliability and i've never heard anything bad about em

Or you could even get a hi-point in .40S&W for a fraction of the cost

Either way you would be getting a good gun and would be paying way less than a potential piece of junk from vector...

One thing i've learnt is either save up for the real thing or dont get it at all... (thats pretty much true in most cases, JLD is one of the few exeptions out there)

for a 10mm i'd go for a real HK or just wait till JLD comes out with one...
