Yeah, they're super cheap and you can do all sorts of things. Put them in your car to launch Google Maps and activate bluetooth or whatever. You're limited by only your mind (so I'm pretty limited) The future is bright for NFC and Apple really missed the boat by not including it on the iPhone 5. It would have helped to move the technology forward too. Oh well.
The tags themselves have memory in them and you program the tag to do whatever sequence you want it to do. Then you install the NFC app on phones that are NFC capable (most new Android phones are now) and make sure it's enabled. Then you get your swipe on!
