I went with a wedge and an angle since it's on hardboard siding. The screws I used are impressive. The ones in the kit are too thin and the heads aren't big enough, IMO. It would take a lot of effort to rip off.

Any pics of it?

I'll see what I can do.

I ended up ordering the ring camera as well and will decide which one I prefer when they both arrive.

Skybell is free. You can turn off the LED so it isn't constantly on. Help me understand why you are concerned that it looks like a camera? I can't imagine what value a doorbell pried off a house could have. People used to get cell phones and iPods stolen, but now that everyone has one, seems like less of a concern.
I can't speak for the theft risk, but it has occurred to me that as prevalent as "Rings" are, if your doorbell looks like a camera at a distance a dedicated thief (or whatever) isn't going to come up and ring it.... Even if that used to be a thing. So maybe by not having obvious cameras, they try the obvious methods first, where you may have a chance to notice before something happens.

Pretty much what I was thinking. While I really don't feel theft may be the issue, someone that is notices a camera is either going to stop what they were about to do or figure out a different method to get around it. If you can make it discreet, why wouldn't you?
I never thought about having a camera system setup until last year when I got into a dispute with one of the neighbors (who has since moved). It was over a minor issue but he didn't take it that way. I figured at one point he was going to try and get back at me by either damaging one of my vehicles or something else. He had parked two of his four vehicles right in front of our house and refused to move them. Mind you, the one truck had been in a roll over, in no way road worthy, both had expired out of state tags, and were never driven. Our neighborhood at that time was brand new and the HOA was still in the process of being completed. They were aware of the situation but said they couldn't do anything until it had been finalized (which took months). I finally got his attention and that's when the argument took place. He got pretty nasty and said it was no of my F'in business what cars are in front of my house and that he could park whatever and wherever he wanted.
As cheap as these cameras are now-a-days, you really don't have an excuse to not even have a basic setup like mine to CYA.

Thanks for sharing! That is probably how mine will end up with the same camera view. Ideally, I like it angled more to actually view my parked vehicle/vehicles but that may not be feasible with the Ring. I'm not a home construction guy either but I am guessing they mounted our doorbell there for a reason so it probably cannot be relocated very easily. I'll try both and see which I like better.
