Started looking at cheap drones but talked myself into this one. Helped that I found a near new kit on Amazon for $450 instead of $600. DJI is basically the Glock of the drone world...gazillion of users and companies offering accessories.

Mini 2 is some good hardware, and I understand why folks like them...but I just don't like the full package that DJI offers.

I picked up this clone of a TS100(PINECIL) along with a real TS100....

The clone is designed to work with both battery pack + high power USB-C. But...the max battery pack size is the 5 cell version while the real TS100 can work only with battery pack, but can work with 6-cell. The pinecil is a bit cheaper while the TS100 seems to be slightly better build. The soldering irons are designed to run on the commonly available battery packs that are used in drones.

Both soldering irons can use the open source soldering iron firmware and have a very good features. It's portable; so for me, it does not quite feel as good as lets say a Hakko 888D iron.

    Yay.

My old Dell XPS had a motherboard failure about three weeks ago. It was the primary box I used for internet and/or porn consumption, so I felt it's loss keenly. I hate spending money on anything not firearm related, but since it also served as the print server and media server for the rest of the family, and they were not amused by it's absence. Also, since I bought it in 2008, my wife told me to quit complaining and fork over for a new one. I figured since I got 15 years out of the last scratch & dent XPS, I'd replace it with the same thing from the Dell outlet. i7-whatever, 32 GB of RAM, some sort of independent video card, and Windows 11 Pro. The newest flavor of Windows has not been a living nightmare, but I feel like they just moved things at random for no purposes and I hate the consolidated task bar.

But, the porn er... media and print servers are back up, all the family photos are back, and I can reply on the internet in the fashion I am accustomed to again!

    Scooped up a Keltec RDB20. Comparison next to a 16” Mid-length
