Sounds like a possible metal allergy. If it is, there's limited options, none of them involve another replacement.
For those considering any surgery where a device needs to be used, consisting of metal. Do yourself a favor, spend the $600 for a metal allergy test. Orthopedic analytical (i'll check the exact name later today) does a blood test that shows what if any allergies one has, prior to getting replacements. You'll hear Oh those allergies are 1 in a million, because surgeons do not want to admit there's an issue. I asked the one surgeon. If it's 1 in a million, explain how the specialist i am dealing with had 1/2 doz. patients in the office with the same issue?
Anyway, save yourself the possibility of serious side effects, like amputation and spend the $$ for the test. I will not say it's a major issue, however 2 ortho places out here have now offered that testing, based on my own experience.

Well I almost ruined a countertop today with my sh*tty 30 year old skil saw. The arbor (motor shaft) is walking around so much it won't cut straight. Guess it's just worn to a nub. Probably didn't help using it to cut landscape blocks.
Ordered a new Dewalt. More than I wanted to spend for my needs, but I hate buying really cheap stuff these days (like that old skil saw).
Building the wife a new craft room setup that is lots of Ikea. They have some pretty hefty laminate tops that are about the same price as their sh*tty lightweight tabletops. Carrying the 98" 100 pounder upstairs by myself was fun.

Heavy duty laminate does peak my interest just a bit. I am not sure if that front edge lip is right - or - I am missing something.
Not a big fan of black; but that top does look nice. It is about 1"+ too deep to use it for my heavy duty shelf that I use for my basement computer. If it was a bit smaller I would have did the trip to Denver to see it myself.
My big buy is a heat sink for my laptop SSD drive I just installed 10 mins ago. Insert shinny copper strip of metal that cost about $21.00.
It was needed for installation of the drive to secure it in place. A bit of a royal pain to find out after I opened the case that that bit was not already installed. You could not order from Dell, and it was hard as heck to find the part numbers for the heat sink and special mount "t". ordered on from Amazon and had the hardware installed.
At the same time I installed 2 memory cards to max out the laptop ram. I am running a memory check on the device to make sure every thing is happy.

To be clear, it's "hefty," not necessarily heavy duty. Still 1000 time better than the wonky tabletops they offer. Only the front edge is rolled over, the back and ends are sharp. It's finished on all edges (bottom is paper) but they include 2 pieces of laminate for the ends if needed. I cut 2 to length and ripped 3" off another to fit in a space behind a door. I possibly could have gotten something suitable through HD or Lowes, but it was convenient and we were building a bunch of Ikea for the room anyway. I may add one to a secondary work surface in my office.
The tabletop I got with my new Deskhaus sit/stand is heavy duty formica brand laminate with bonded edge band. Couldn't justify spending on solid wood and for my use case, it would just get wrecked anyway. They had a sale bundle and not many colors left to chose so I went with this.
The new office setup is a whole nother project with a seemingly endless barrage of pieces and parts and "stuff" I've had to order.
new monitor (I'll have 2x on my home PC and 2x on my work laptop)
new dual monitor arms (2x)
new monitor task light
new case (gotta be black now)
new case desk bracket
new USB/flash drive bay hub
cables, cord adapters, 10Gb SFP, etc. it just never ends.
new SSD for the wife's craft PC
(unrelated but work related) new spare 1TB ssd I need to complete my migration.

That Ikea counter top would work; currently I am using heavy duty cardboard over the heavy duty metal wire shelf. For me a quick fix would be to find a HDF board - but shipping cost dwarfs the 12 dollar price for the material. The black color of that Ikea counter top would work perfect with the black color of the whalen shelf I picked up at Costco.
I broke down and upgraded the Windows 11 home addition to the Pro version for under 40 dollars. Upgrade was fast and took a few reboots as the system re-configured itself. The install of the second SSD drive gave me impressive drive to drive copy speeds.

We needed a LOT more storage space and covered parking for the vehicles. We also needed $$ for those things. Since we really didn't need such a heavy pickup I sold my '17 F250 6.7L to a dealer in the DFW area for $10k more than what I paid for it 6 years ago. I turned that $$ into these with a tidy amount left over for other things (electrical, insulation, etc...). We're pickled tink with the building. It's taking me a bit to get used to a 1/2 ton pickup again.
