i hate exposed glass...its one of the most vital parts of optic/lights/ect...most think its odd, but i think its worth 10 bucks to protect whatever its on considering you how much time you spend using these things vs the time their in a bag, or just not in use at all.
it also helps keep them clean so when you do need it, you dont have dirt or anything on the lens

Isn't ivory trade pretty much outlawed?
Fairly certain mammoth ivory wasn't gotten by hunting.
