hahaha thanks. I'll let you know how it's going. Tonight I played with it for a few hours while listening to the Colorado Connection repeater on Cheyenne Mountain. I made it about 20 pages into the manual. It is a complicated beast with some nice features. Now I need to learn to use them!

As for ICOM... I can't afford that kind of quality! I had to save up my extra pennies and empty brass for a few months to afford this one. I got it for $159 on Amazon with free shipping. Got a 12VDC charger for it too so I can keep it charged up while out on the road (or trail).

Even while I haven't spent a bunch of money with him, he was more than willing doing the transfer on a deal I found that couldn't be matched.

I don't want to speak for him, but I expect as his business grows, he will be able to pass along additional savings on the products he's handling most.
Tim is GTG, i don't know if going out of his way is how he does business. However he made me a happy camper.

good stuff. Icom is ok too.

Is it software programmable? Should be? Get the software for it and a cable, worth it.

Sometimes assholes push people down stairs.
That doesn't mean "stairs are bad" nor does it make someone who pushes someone down the stairs any less of an asshole.

Place a WTBorrow in the trading post or survival forum. Someone has on. That's a nice radio you decided to jump in to the ham radio with. Battery wise, if it last 1/2 as long as the cheap Baofeng i have, it will last a while.

rt systems are the folks who made the software for ICOM/yaesu anyways. I think there is another freebee type software out there, but not sure.
