I don't have one. Friend is working hard on his license and wanted some dead weight. (and company) I've never been in a small plane before. Was a good time.

Will let you know. Just trying to help out a friend. Gave him some fuel $ for the ride.

Could be, fuel truck was running all around KBJC. Topped off the tanks so there wasn't a need to re-fuel in pueblo KPUB.

Flew down, met a couple of co-worker chicks and they took us to town for a late lunch. Then back to KBJC. Awesome day, smooth ride.

Just happened to get a photo of my house. See if you can find it!

Awesome. Any day flying is a good day.

Tell him he needs to get himself some wheel pants!

Edit: Wait a second... Are students allowed to have non-IP passengers before they get their license?

You have to have your Private pilots license and 200 hours of pilot in command before you can get a Commercial license. Somebody that is building time usually loves to have someone for company especially if they will pay for the gas.

I think this also may hold true for an Instrument rating.

This wasn't a commercial flight though. It sounded like the PIC had solo'd, but didn't have his license yet. Just asking the question.

250hrs for a CPL. Under FAR part 61. Reduced numbers if you do it under part 141.

You have to have 50hrs PIC X-country time and 40hrs simulated/actual instrument to get your IR part 61. These are what I'm working on now, hence the offer to trade safety pilot time to build simulated IMC.

Also, for an ATP, the highest level of license, you need 1500hrs, plus 300hrs XC unless you meet one of a few exemptions that lower it to 1250 (military pilot for example)

I'm sure his friend is working towards one of these licenses, but already has his PPL, and that's why he is building time.

And here I sit at lowly 180 hrs, but did that in only 14 months.
