The panels on my Bakflip were separating. Maybe due to abuse. I always dropped the last section from 6 inches or so to close it. And I hated the cover leaning on the back of the cab when fully open. I like to take my smoker camping, and of course it didn't fit underneath the Bakflip. Always the worry of the last section flipping when driving.

With the Retrax there's no need to open the tailgate to access the bed. And no worries of it blowing closed when in motion. The action can be closed and locked at any point.

I really like the ease of getting the Retrax with rails to accept a lot of T-slot mounts for carrying things above the cover. I believe that can be had with Bakflip as well, but mine was not equipped with it.

One thing to keep in mind about the Retrax is you do lose some bed space at the front of the bed where it rolls up.

The tradeoff needs to be an informed decision.

Agreed, you lose some bed space. Approximately 13.5 inches square from the front of the bed and top of the bed rail.

I put 10 sheets of drywall under it yesterday and had room for more. (For me, the advantage of a long bed is the minimal impact of the Retrax.)

Also picked up some of the Tabasco Sriracha (I agree that it's better tasting than the other stuff) and Cayenne & Garlic. Got them at the Chef's Store restaurant supply.
