The new TV stand I think; well - it is my new TV stand; just not sure if I will use that with the new TV.

I want to put together a 22LR ar, was planning to use this kit, plus build an upper with an actual 22LR barrel... is this a good plan? Any suggestions on a cheap decent barrel for the purpose?
Or should I just use a standard ar barrel?

I've never looked for .22 barrels for an AR to be honest. I don't have any advice for you.

I got this for my wife because she built and 80% poly receiver and just wanted this to play around with. I have a dedicated CMMG upper on an AR lower that works just great.

If it were me, right now, I'd probably just buy a new S&W .22 rifle or something similar. Palmetto has the S&W .22 rifle w/3 mags and a case for $419 right now...assuming you're still in TX.

    Green mtn barrels.

I used a standard ( 1:12) AR bbl, that was cut down and repurposed in to a 6" 22 pistol.

I tried the standard AR barrel but the accuracy was not good. Fine if you just want to throw bullets in the targets direction and kick up dust.
I used it for Scouting bit was frustrating for the Scouts when they could not hit the targets consistently.
I did find a AR-22 barrel with a 1/12 twist rate and included the feed ramp adapter.
What a difference that made!!! I was shooting rounds into the same hole at 50 yards and hit after hit on 6 inch plates at 100 yards.
I would build the dedicated upper. To me it was worth it.

Definitely what I was looking for... Did that still use the CMMG BCG/Mags, or some other setup?

Finally, after all these years, I was able to get one my bucket list guns, an MP5. Also picked up a couple others as well. Hot rod 43x and a Canik Rival.
