Want to try reloading

I've been thinking about reloading my own plinking ammo lately. The cost of 7.62x39 and .45 ACP is just too expensive to shoot on a regular basis. Here's the catch, I know NOTHING about reloading.

Someone learn me something and point me in the right direction, please! What equipment am I going to need, what do I need to know and where do I obtain the knowledge to do this?

2- Figure out what kind of equipment that is going to fit Your needs

4- DO NOT double charge Your loads, Most Important.

What is double charging?

Double charging is when you accidentaly put two charges of powder in a case. I personally always look down every case after I charge them to make sure that does not happen.

You can get manuals at any sporting goods place like sportsmans ect.
How much you spend depends on how fancy you want to get. You could spend thousands.

Reloading is fun and a great way to save money but there is a lot to it. If you do not know what your doing or you don't pay very careful attention to what your doing bad things happen. A friend of mine was loading 44 mag and his wife interupted him. Well in the confusion he set the scale to 28.0 grns instead of 20.8 grns. First trigger pull blew the gun to pieces it was a ruger black hawk. He was very very lucky nobody got hurt.

My advice is this since you live just north of me we should get together some time. You come over to my house and I will sit you down and teach you then you can decide what kind of setup you want.

I'm looking to do mostly 7.62x39, .45 ACP and maybe 9mm (it's so cheap, I'm not sure it'd be worth the hassel).

Remember handloading isn't all about saving money. It's also about making a load that meets your needs. I reload rifle calibers for accuracy. I reload 9mm and .44mag at subsonic velocities for use in suppressed weapons, I reload .45 ACP to save money.

If I have a crappy day at work, I love to come home and reload a few hundred rounds. It's very relaxing and fun.

Or worse yet, 416 Rigby or 50 BMG...

1K or 40 or 9x19 a month adds up also. Back in 2001/2 I was shooting a lot more than that trying to make GM in IPSC.
