Flee or fight. I've got too many problems that keep me from running. The option left is to fight. I make my living with my brain and my hands and don't plan to damage either. I've never started a fight, but I finished every one of them.

When my wife is with me, she can't defend herself. It's my job to make sure no harm comes to her.

The police investigate crime. It's not their job to prevent it. You are your own first line of defense. If someone is dumb enough to take their fists to a club/knife/gun fight, they have other mental issues.

Exactly. To me, that is the bottom line. The police are not legally required to protect us, most drooling gun grabbers don't realize that.

Self defense is one of the fundamental laws not only of humanity, but of most of the animal world. It's just that for decades humanity has been conditioned with a victim mentality, and as a result many can't take responsibility for their own actions and livelihood/safety.

As far as being called a 'wimp' who cares what someone calls you, it what they try and do to you that matters more.

Well I think if you actually let someone calling you a whimp for carrying a firearm or a knife affect you, then you've most likely got self-esteme issues to begin with. I don't judge my own personal value or worth based on someone, especially someone who lacks the same degree of knowledge about firearms as I have, have an effect on me based on my preference for having/carrying them.

Then again, when the Zombies come, I'm sure those will be the first folks lined up as fodder! [roll]

I have heard tell that anyone who USES a gun is a coward. Usually from uninformed people. I personally have seen the bad side of humanity and that is why I own firearms.

I love the Zombie comment too. I told the wifey, when she asked, the reason I wanted more magazines for my still unfired ak, was when the zombies come I can get more of them, then with a pistol.
