    Default Water shortages

Looks like Tulsa OK and many texas towns are running low.

"Residents of nearby Kemp, Texas, were reeling from no water in the midst of the wretched heat.

As temperatures soared to the triple-digits for the 37th consecutive day Sunday, city officials made an emergency decision to shut off the town's water supply.

"Right now our water towers have no water in them at all," said Mayor Donald Kile"

I'm afraid we'd only last a week or two with drinking water. Much less with bathing and potential cooking.

I keep filling up 1 gallon jugs. Running out of room to store them.
Sometimes people trip and fall down stairs.
Sometimes assholes push people down stairs.
That doesn't mean "stairs are bad" nor does it make someone who pushes someone down the stairs any less of an asshole.

I've got like 35+ 2 liter bottles full of water. I've got a good 20 more empty ones I need to store though. Thank goodness for the crawl space.

If you have the space a beer keg is a great way to store 15 gallons of water the center spear part is easy to remove and the container is stainless so clean up is super easy as well. I have a couple filled and have one of the cheap hand pumps to extract the watery goodness.

I just saw a guy drop TWO full size kegs in the dumpster the other day. I thought about grabbing them, but couldn't convince myself that they'd serve a purpose. I should have grabbed them, then asked. Heck, I should have asked him what was in them.

When the Oglllala aquifer is finally depleted the entire area will be a desert with nothing on it. Places in Eastern Colorado will too...

Check out coloradozerowaste.com in Longmont. The $35 55 gallon barrels that had distilled water in them are super nice and like new. Not affiliated, just a customer.

ETA: the $15 barrels are good for storing utility water. We have some of those for emergency cleaning, toilet water and then a few of the $35 ones for drinking water.

Some of their water cubes are pretty good deals. They also have long term water storage treatment additives for the storage units. Read the details on the 250 gallon unit for some ideas on how long you can store water. The great thing is you can fill these from the tap, and re-fill and treat every so often.

Disclaimer- No afilliation or business interest in this vendor. I have bought some of the long term food supplies.
