killing birds in my barn`
what low velocity .22 ammo would you guys use i need something accurate but that wont punch hols in the side of my barn if i(when i) miss im using the cmmg kit in my ar15

Got get your self a Daisy Powerline 1000, that is what I used on some squirrels that were attacking my little cat. They would jump on the cats back and I got worried they would give him a disease, it worked great for that very accurate I was able to hit one on a powerline that was running.
Get some 22 shot shells. Not sure if you can find them still, but winchester made brass shotshells - crimped on the ends. Work great at short distance. Have used them for years. Still have some too! Some rural hardware stores usually have them.
If not, use the 600-1000 fps pellet rifle as Atrain1 suggested. $30-100 at walmart etc. Lot's of fun.
Sometimes people trip and fall down stairs.
Sometimes assholes push people down stairs.
That doesn't mean "stairs are bad" nor does it make someone who pushes someone down the stairs any less of an asshole.
Don't most people just whack the birds out of the air with a shovel or a rake?

Nope. They're made to be shot out of a .22LR. People have used em since Jesus walked the earth with no ill effects to their guns that I've ever heard of.
I've used em for mice, birds, etc. in the barn and it works just fine. You'll see it packaged as ".22 shot shells," "rat shot," "snake shot," or the like. I've seen ones with crimped ends and ones that have a thin plastic capsule filled with shot in place of a bullet... both will work, just make sure you clean your barrel after shooting (crimped ones will foul more than a standard copper-plated bullet and the plastic is self-explanatory).

Personally I never saw the point in doing anything other than killing em if you want them gone. My ex had a problem where rabbits were eating holes through hay bales in her barn, and of course eating through the strings in the process, and then when we'd try to move em they'd fall apart. When I asked why she didn't just kill em she said they were too cute to kill (she'd tried everything she could think of to simply keep them out, but it didn't work).
One night I decided to take the .22, a flashlight, and a plastic water bottle filled with things other than water and sit in the rafters in the barn. She still thinks the rabbits just moved
Anyway, moral of the story: killing them is the only way to stop them (just think of them as Muzzies)
