I bought mine on line and picked the tag up at CDOW. I got my first choice. I will be Elk and Bear hunting the opening week.

    Best of luck

So how does one bear hunt? I’ve been going hunting every year since I was 12 years old or so and never seen a bear in the wild. I go camping several times a year and fishing just about every week. The only bears I have ever seen are in the dumpster at work. Just curious because I have a lot of vacation to burn up.

I drew a regular season rifle for BB in 54/55/551 9/2-9/30

Had a friend want to buy and OTC w/ cap and they told him he needed a elk or deer license to the same unit and season that he wanted to hunt bear in.

He didn't get one he is an archery hunter, 500 OTC either sex elk for 54 went on sale and were gone by 1400

    I bought mine @ 938 am

In my case ya wait til about 2:30am, when the dogs start barking, open the front door and go to town.

We have had bear activity about every third night for the last three weeks. Not sure why, we don't leave any food out. This is the most bear activity I've seen.

Last year all I had was an elk tag and all I saw was bear and mule deer! This year I figure I have all the bases covered!

Made it down to CDOW at 0845 that morning and was already #33 in the waiting line. Got my over the counter tags for black bear for 86/82/861, second rifle season oct23-30, the bull elk tag is the same season and valid for alot of units on the map. First big game hunt in CO so Im sure this will be a fun learning experience. Any tips?

Been bad this summer here too. As early as 8pm. I wish I could bait one into the house, I am getting really tired of them.
