I want to get into reloading one step at a time....

What should I get first? I've got a ton of brass lying around and I want to get it cleaned up, sorted and get the primers out of it. I assume I need a tumbler. What else would I need to get to prep it? If it matters I plan on loading 9mm, .45 and possibly 7.62x39 and .308 down the road.

I would buy a starter kit RCBS, Lee ect. make them. That will be cheaper than buying all of it seperate you will get everything you need except a tumbler and dies.

Minimum you need to decap and clean is a press dies and a tumbler. For the 7.62 you will also need a lube pad and case lube. If you buy carbide dies for 9mm and .45 you don't need to lube them. The die that decaps them also resizes them.

My first purchase was a CV-2001 case-cleaner and CM-2000 media separator.

I really like the RL550B. Especially since I load a lot of different calibers.

If I were just going to load lots and lots of a single caliber / load, I might be more drawn to a different model.

Are there any better beginner kits out there? I don't want something that I'll grow out of. I don't want to spend a grand getting set up either, though. Are there any other brands of kits that I should be looking at? For now I'm looking for something cheap and easy to get started on. I already picked up a Speer reloading manual and I've been reading it whenever I have time.

for the most part they are all interchangeable, most of my dies are rcbs. there is a couple that wont work but they are pretty universal, I have lyman, rcbs, and lee they all work great and I belive redding dies will also work.
