"The people never give up their liberties but under some delusion." (Edmund Burke 1784)
Yup, it is as far as I know. Karl.
Still on, who from this board is coming?
You know I'll be there. Karl.
What time is the shoot?
And is us one lil' can NoOb's invited? :P
Of coarse you are. I have said this many times but anyone is welcome to come to the shoot. The one thing I don’t want is someone showing up wanting to shoot an unsuppressed firearm, but since it is public land I can't really stop anyone. If you want to shoot just bring ammo and I am sure we will let you try our stuff.Originally Posted by roman gnome
I was thinking we meet at McD's in Woodland Park at 9:30 unless any of you have a better idea.
That would work for me. If you guys decide on a different time just let me know.
Is anyone bringing a .45? I've been thinking of getting an HK .45 compact (when the wifey let's me) but I want to get a silencer for it, and I wonder if a silenced .45 is decently quiet enough, or if I'm better off getting a 9mm, or a .40.
I have at least 7 guys from silencertests.com coming. I think Muzzleflash said he was coming also. Does anyone want to grill, and if so do any of you guys have a portable gas grill?Originally Posted by HunterCO
At least one guy is bringing a .45 USP with a suppressor (I think its an SWR HEMS2). You can judge for your self on Saturday but suppressed .45's are loud compared to a 9mm or even a .40 cal. Most people who do shoot suppressed .45's shoot them "wet" which means they add an ablative such as water or gel to help cool and contract the gasses and thus making the suppressor quieter. The down side to this is that the ablative either evaporates or gets blown out the suppressor after a mag or two, it is also very dirty and gets crap all over you and your gun. Most .45 suppressors need to be shot "wet" in order to be hearing safe without ear protection where most 9mm's can be shot dry with no problem.Originally Posted by robsterclaw
