Default An Unsolved Arguement plz weigh in.

Well today I got into an argument with a couple of my buddies, we were talking about law and stuff, then one of them said:

"All that has to happen for you to go to jail is that a woman doesn’t like you and she decides to press sexual harassment charges against you, and then her word will always override your word no matter what. Once a woman says you did that than your going to jail, even if you never said a thing about sexual stuff to her."

Of course I was like that BS, no way in hell could it be that way otherwise thousands of people that don’t like others just because of they're politics would be in jail right now. I stood my ground they stood theirs, I hope I am right cause if not than what has this country gone to? A little bit of reassurance that I’m right is all I want, if I’m wrong, I’m goanna raise as much cane about the issue as I can!

Whats your guys view on this issue?

Depends on what you say, to whom, and where.

18-9-111 says it could be a Class 3 misdemeanor (Class 1 if you be hatin' religion, race, etc)

18-1.3-501 says $50 minimum to six months and/or $750 maximum

I'm not a lawyer, but have spent way too many nights in Holiday Inn Express this year.

Like with any accusation, the cops have to respond to the complaint. They have to act in certain cases, ie. Domestic Violence. If they don't feel the complaint is true, then there are ways to not arrest you. But it's a crapshoot. In DV, YOU ARE GOING TO JAIL!!! Karl.

It depends on how good your lawyer is. When sexual harrsassment suits started to pop up there were a lot of high profile cases where a lot of guys going to jail. These days they take those claims with a grain of salt. If it's just your word against hers then you should be fine. If she has a bunch of evidence to back up her claims then prepare to fry. Just make sure you don't take it for granted and talk to a lawyer if you're ever accused.

FYI my dad has beaten two sexual harrassment cases. Both of them were probably substantiated because he does make some lewd comments but ONLY when it's someone that can take it as a joke and gives it right back. Be careful of what you say in the workplace. Even if it's just fun and games now you could really end up getting screwed down the road. One of the girls that accused him came back TWO YEARS after she quit and brought it up.

    No jail for sexual harrasment.

Course all she needs to do is scream rape and you just might. If it is proven completely false and unbased she gets no repercussions, you get a lawyers bill and a reputation. Look at the Duke Lacrosse deal.

Believe it or not, it is the goal of TPTB to make everyone a criminal, preferably a felon. That is why we have 10's of thousands of laws on the books, some of them concerning things that any reasonable human being would not consider a crime.

A friend of mine that lives in Boulder county was charged with DV, why? Because his sister in law called him up and was cussing him over the phone. He ripped his phone off of the wall and caused the line to go dead. She was not at his house, she was at her house calling him at his house.

I am not kidding, this happened in 2004, in Longmont.

The easiest way to take our guns and our rights away is to make us all criminals.......

Cardinal Richelieu understood the value of surveillance when he famously said, "If one would give me six lines written by the hand of the most honest man, I would find something in them to have him hanged."

    Wow that really stinks.....

So if she brings up false charges you cant get her on wasting police time, and you cant bring a civil suit against her?

That really stinks, isnt their anything that can be done about it? I bet that if i ever claimed a sexual harassment suit they'd laugh at me lol Isnt that what you call sexism now a days?

Oh well i shouldnt really be surprized since the most descriminated against of all is the white male...

That's the way our legal system works. You can't be found guilty of accusing someone of something.
