I just made a Sportsman's Guide order

I tried to order a Swedish mora knife but apparently it's a restricted item. Here's the email they sent me.

Dear Guide Customer,

Thank you for your recent order with us at The Guide.
Unfortunately, the following items are restricted to your billing zip code,
therefore we can not ship these items to you:

- NEW SWEDE MORA KNIFE

We have not billed your charge card for any restricted items. We are
sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Is this a Colorado thing or an Arvada thing? I've never heard of any restrictions on knives.

I see no reason they would not,they sometimes get their zip codes mixed, up I've seen it several times, if you call them tomorow they should pull their head out and send it. unless you used a po box because it needs a adult signature to deliver, it says nothing about colo. being restricted in the box below. if not send me a im and send me a m.o. I will order it and send it to you.

It's their attorneys left wing interpretation of a knife law about shipping knives into Colorado. It relates to many knives under the definition of switchblade, stiletto, gravity knife, etc. They don't want to get prosecuted, so they don't take any chances. It's BS. Karl.

I sent them an e-mail about this once and they said it was because of the length (i.e. anything over 3.5" is considered a 'weapon' in CO). But I've seen the warnings on just about every knife I've looked at about not being able to ship to CO, so I think they're retarded. CDNN has no problem shipping knives and there's plenty of local stores around here with such things.

I had the same reply on an AK47 Bayonet.

Funny thing is I ordered 2 different types of AK-47 Bayonets along with 2K of ammo. They sent the ammo, 1 bayonet but not the other.

Give me 1 bayonet and 2K of ammo, but wait a minute, you live in a restricted zip code, so no bayonet for you!!!!!!!! [poke]

Gues I'm outta luck for a drive my bayoneting on my other AK's [roll]

I called customer service and they said that they won't ship any knife with a blade longer than 3.5" to Colorado. The blade on the knife I want is 3 7/8". What a bunch of crap

I ordered a Benchmade automatic knife from "one stop knife stop" and had it shipped to my Thornton address, it is less than 3.5 inch. But fully auto. I asked the Police officer that lived behind me if it was legal to carry it, he told me yes after looking at it. I have always wondered about the interpretation of this.

Yeah, I've got a Benchmade mini-Reflex auto. I was also told by a LEO that it was OK, since it's <3.5".

That's sure not the way I interpret Colorado law.
