Piece of steel, about 9 3/4" X 10 1/2" and about 1 1/2" thick.
Gee what should I use it for?

You should help save the planet and recycle it. Because if you shoot it you will end up spreading lead dust all over and getting lead in the drinking water. So do the right thing and recycle the steel. Its for the children after all.

Just kidding shoot the heck out of it and have a great time while your doing it.
If it's mild steel, it will be interesting to see how it holds up.
Let us know how easy it is to drill. or maybe you'll have to torch holes in it.
as soon as I'm set up in a house, I'll have an assortment of materials to 'test'
I did figure out what it was. A piece of counterweight for an elevator.
