[Pistol Packing Preacher]

Just picked up a new CZ 75B SA 9mm! :P Great shooter, good trigger and accurate with out jams! I did a lot of research and this gun was in the top three. I like the SA trigger for IDPA. I do not think I will carry 'condition 1'. I know the arguments against 'condition 3' carry but the thought of 'one in the pipe and hammer back' with the only thing holding it back being a mechanical safety is just not fitting in this small mind!!! :P Too bad I have to wait a month to shoot it in competition.. ops:

This CZ is just right for IDPA and a good balance of gun for the money... IMHO :P

Congrats on a great gun..I just got one, and awaiting its arrival..then off for some cool stuff to be done to it..

it takes some training to get used to carrying in condition one..but it is no less safe than carrying a glock.
with the hammer back..it will not drop unless something pulls the trigger..just like one of the four safety rules..keep your finger off the trigger, until ready to shoot.
the safety physically blocks the sear from moving..if the safety is not engaged, the sear/hammer still will not move until the trigger is pulled.
Like I said..it takes some training to build the confidence to carry in that condition..but it is safe..

but you do what you are comfortable with, as you are the one that is going to carry it..any reason why you picked that instead of DA/SA or a decocker model..feeling as you do?? just curious..

also...if you make the trip..
USPSA in Pueblo this coming Sunday, and Front Range IDPA the next Sunday..

Well, I got the SA for two reasons: one for IDPA competition and two because I got a great bargain on it! I did look at the CZ 75BD model but the price on this SA model was too good to pass up. The SA model is billed as a competition model.
I normally carry a J frame revolver but because I have this pistol I plan to occasionally carry it.

The revolver is, of course, DA/SA and I practice with it in the DA mode. No other safety, except the trigger!

Thanks for the invite but Sunday is not my day, it is the Lord’s Day. I am after all the “Pistol Packing Preacher!” But I can shoot on Saturdays. I plan on participating in the up coming IDPA match at Clear Creek on Oct 14th. Look for me. I will be the guy with a grin on his face… and a white name tag with ‘Novak’ on it! Say hello!

Congrats on the CZ. They are great pistols.

I had a CZ85 I bought when I was stationed in Germany. Shot alot of matches with it and never had a problem. Got back to the States and decided I didn't want no pansy 9mm I'll go back to the .45. So I sold it, what an idiot I've regreted it ever since. Someday I will come accross another one.

+1. I have a 75 with the Kadet .22 setup. Got some Hogue grips for it. Just need to get the 9mm slide & spring and I'll be in bidness :cool:

It's a Gemtech Outback II suppressor. Typical 1/2x28 threading. I got an '06 model with the non-galling titanium thread insert. Should hold up better than the aluminum mount they used to put on the OB's.

The barrel uses a threaded extension. Mark McWillis of TROS USA (www.trosusa.com) did the work. Mark is a first rate gunsmith and machinist. He's also a Class 2 manufacturer of suppressors so he gets the work done right the first time. Suppressor threading isn't trivial. Not only do the threads have to be concentric to the axis of the bore, they also need to have the right pitch, the correct relief and the rear shoulder has to be absolutely perpendicular to the bore axis.

IIRC, the adaptor and his machine work on my gun came to a grand total of $135 and he paid return ship. I only sent the upper portion to him for work so none of that FedEx overnight express nonsense to mail a pistol.
