    Default aow into a sbs?

if i buy a AOW shotgun can i turn it into a SBS on a from 1?

i want to put a folding stock on a Serbu but from what i heard they only register them as a AOW. i think a little folder would be cool ever if it is pointless.

You cannot turn an sbs into an aow, this I know. An aow into an sbs? ...hmmm. I'd almost bet the answer is no. But to be honest, any answer here would be near pointless. Only technology branch can give the final answer to that. Why not just call and ask? They wont make a decision if it hasn't ever been done before. But if it has, they can tell you over the phone. If it has never been asked before, they will insist you ask in writing. Karl.

I checked into it and was told that you can turn an AOW shotgun into an SBS on a Form 1. Personally I would just call Mark Serbu and tell him you want one registered as an SBS. I am sure he would do it why would he care it makes no difference to him how he registers it. Obviously he go's the aow route to avoid the $200 tax stamp. He might request you pay for the gun up front before he will register it as a SBS.

When Alan ordered mine he had to make it so it took a few months.

If you turn an aow into an sbs, using a form 1, do you still have to mark it with your name and city? Or will they let the original aow mfr. info be enough? Hmmmm? That's a lot to get on a small area. The original mfr. of the receiver, the aow mfr., and then you. DANG! Karl.

a freind of mine asked serbu on the phone if they had them registered as sbs as well as aow's. he told him they did not and they had no plans of doing that. i would rather pay the $200 stamp and have some options and keep my name off the gun. i guess ill call them today and see if i can get them to do it for me with a pre pay.
