    Like many others, and because I'm in the peoples republic of Denver (although the very furthest southwest point of it), I got the highest velocity pellet gun I could find and put a scope on it. I put one right through their beady little eye and it's lights out for the coon. I took out a family of 7 last year, one didn't die right away and was half under my deck, the momma and she was one massively huge coon! Problem is (as I found out the hard way), trapping them is challenging (even for pros) and when you do they scream like banshees all night long (got the cops called on me) and can find their way home again. They are smart little bastards and mean as hell.

    Like this suggestion- it has always worked for us in the past. Between my father-in-law and myself, we've probably relocated a dozen raccoons in the past 2-3 years using these traps. You can get them at Harbor Freight...
