Outdoor range near highlands ranch?
I've been talking with the guys at prairie arms a lot lately and it sounds like the indoor range they had planned isn't gonna happen, but they mentioned a new site down Santa fe across form the police training facility. I failed to ask if they will have an outdoor range there as well. Are there any other options near highlands ranch? Maybe 300-450 yds?

I too am looking for a place to shoot in the area. I grew up in Northern Colorado and there were PLENTY of places to shoot, and close. Now that I live in Parker, it seems like I'm stuck with putting up with Cherry Creek or driving out to BLGC (which is too far). I'm not opposed to having a membership, but it needs to be close enough for me to use it often. I'm hoping there is something in Pike National Forest close to Sedalia.
BTW, I'm talked to the guys at Prarie Arms, and yes, their indoor range is cancelled. They mentioned an outdoor range south on 85 just like they did to you, but I followed up with the question: When? No plans yet, not even sure they own the land, have the money, etc. I'm not betting on it.

Even a quiet 25 yard range for practicing with the CCW would be nice. My understanding is that the South Site is the only place people are willing to go public with. If you are willing to share your spot with me via PM, I promise you I will carry out more than I carried in and won't tell a soul other than my wife.

Good luck. I live in HR and have resigned myself to going to the south site when I'm able. Bring some trash bags with you, people are bastards.

I'm in the Lone Tree area and feel your pain. There are a couple short designated shooting spots near Buffalo Creek. I went there for a meet with some other members here. It was pretty easy to get to, not terribly far away, and it's in the mountains which is always nice.

there are five public ranges that I know of that go out past 400 yards here.
CRC in byers, NRAWC in raton, DOW range in Buena vista, PWSA in pueblo, and pawnee nat. grasslands.
theres sadly not much else long range around this area that's public.
I'm lucky enough to have a buddy that lives on some land in sedalia that I can shoot on (out to about 450), but thats not exactly open to the public. From my experience, if you want to do much long range shooting, youre pretty much stuck driving far one way or the other.
